My interest in Afghanistan was piqued years ago by photos on Facebook, many from Silk Road Afghanistan and Travel. Surprised to find travel agencies in Afghanistan, a country not well-known in international tourism, I reached out to Gull Hussain Baizada for information. Our first video call marked the beginning of a friendship built on respect and empathy. Gull and I kept in touch, In October 2023, I finally traveled to Auckland for a three-week expedition with A2A Journey, led by Gull. The trip was extraordinary, not just for the landscapes and hikes, but for the deep friendship and professionalism Gull showed. Traveling with him, you feel like part of his family.
